Chocolate Lavender Brownies

2 tsp lavender
3 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa
1/4 tsp instant expresso powder or coffee powder
3 sticks butter
4 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optiona)

Preheat oven to 325°


Butter a 13x9 inch baking dish

Run lavender through spice grinder, place in large bowl. Add flour, cocoa, powdered espresso/coffee, sugar - mix well.

Melt butter on stovetop or microwave, let cool a few minutes. Whisk in eggs and vanilla.

Make a well in center of dry ingredients and pour in butter mixture. Using a wooden spoon mix until combinedl. Stir in nuts if using.

Pour into prepared baking dish and smooth


35-45 minutes until toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
